A self portrait taken on a Nikon FM which I borrowed and never returned to my father.

I was 16 years old, and had just started surfing; during those years my shoulders broadened, my skin turned sun-kissed and my glare hardened.

The years between being a boy and a man. I took a lot of photos during that time, but not enough.

South African born and raised.

Time is moving too fast.

Life is a little more serious nowadays, and I am far away from those carefree years when surfing and taking photos was all I cared about.

Sometimes I think that I am just trying to recapture the feeling of being young; when my shoulders were broad, my skin sun-kissed and my glare uncompromised.

Currently living and working in Switzerland.
